FORM + FIELD HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE 2022

As 2022 comes to a close and we reflect on the past couple of years, we recognize the opportunity to amplify the efforts of fellow BIPOC-founded small businesses who share similar values relating to sustainability, inclusivity, and representation in their respective industries. This year’s annual gift guide curates a short-list of gift ideas from some of our favorites.

KARST STONE PAPER

Dedicated to sustainable business practices, Karst Stone founder Kevin Garcia responsibly crafts notebooks without the use of trees, water, wastes, acids or bleaches. Instead, they marry calcium carbonate and resin with heat and pressure to form 100% tree-free water-proof “paper”.

THE MOSS AND GREEN

Brooklyn-based, The Moss and Green is a Japanese kokedama bonsai studio founded by May Carroll. The art of kokedama (Japanese for “moss ball”) is rich in history, coming from centuries-old traditions of potting plants into a ball of moss; beautifully displaying its root system. May specializes in this craft, creating one-of-a-kind bonsai arrangements of rare and beloved house plants, perfect for the plant-whisperer in your life.

MCBRIDE SISTERS WINE COMPANY

Newly found sisters who had been raised across the world from one another, Robin and Andréa’s love affair with wine was planted within them from an early age while growing up in two of the world’s most iconic wine-growing regions. McBride Sisters Wine Company, now the largest Black-owned wine company in the U.S., the McBride sisters imbue their business with values and a mission that we are 100% behind; highlighting inclusivity, sustainability, and doing their part to positively transform their industry. Our favorite collection, Black Girl Magic, is an ode to their culture and story, inspired by the resilience of Black women.

Founded in 2020 by Carol Gancia, San Francisco-based Kokak Chocolates specializes in small-batch single origin heirloom chocolates; each flavor adorned with its own eye-catching design. SPACE OF TIME

What began as a collaboration between two friends, blossomed into a wellness-focused studio that believes our lives can be made fuller, richer, and clearer through the beauty of everyday things and routines. Space of Time intentionally curates meditative sets and objects; prompting moments of reflection and connection with ourselves and spaces we inhabit. Fun fact: This incredible WOC-owned small business was founded by good friends of our Senior Designer, Shelbie.
